Eliminating Configuration Errors: Key Insights from Our Latest GNet Workshop

Configuration errors are one of the most common frustrations in the ground transportation industry. They not only delay reservations but can also damage trust between partners and affiliates. In our latest Workshop Wednesday, GNet experts and members came together to share experiences, challenges, and solutions to reduce these errors and improve day-to-day operations.

Why This Matters

As Shahram M explained at the start of the session, configuration errors create frustration for both senders and receivers of reservations. Often the cause is something simple—like a mismatched vehicle type, an incomplete partner setup, or a note in the wrong field—but the ripple effects can be costly. By addressing these issues early, operators can eliminate repeated errors and ensure smoother collaboration across the GNet network.

Common Challenges Raised by Members

  • “As Directed” Trips with Multiple Stops
James Bignall highlighted that systems often reject these jobs. Amir Zafar clarified that GNet requires clean addresses (street, city, state, zip), and notes should be placed in the designated notes field—not the address line.
  • Vehicle Mapping Differences
A US SUV and a UK Range Rover may not match capacity expectations. Amir reminded operators that GNet uses generic vehicle types, and partners can set up custom mapping for hardcoded solutions.
  • Frequent Setup Errors
Shahram M emphasized three key requirements:
    1. Be partners on GNet
    2. Have a customer account in Limo Anywhere (with the ID linked in GNet)
    3. Ensure a credit card is active in GNet
  • Farm Out Limitations in Moves
Some members expressed frustration with the Moves system. Amir clarified this is not a GNet limitation—46 other systems are successfully sending and receiving jobs through GNet.

Tools and Solutions Highlighted

  • GNet Connect Portal
Sina Naeemi showcased how operators can expand their reach by completing their profiles, adding services, fleet, and locations, and connecting with 5,000+ members globally.
  • Limo Anywhere Setup Wizard
A new guided wizard helps ensure clean configuration and reduces setup mistakes.
  • Farmhouse Feature
Amir introduced the three modes of Farmhouse—real rates, fixed rates, and broadcast mode—making auto-dispatch and partner collaboration more efficient.
  • GPS & CRM Integrations
With GPS now supported across most systems, operators can share trip status and location updates seamlessly, reducing confusion at pickup.

Key Takeaways

  • Most configuration errors stem from vehicle mapping issues and incomplete partner setups.
  • GNet acts as a network (like a phone switch), not a reservation system—it transmits clean data between partners.
  • Operators who optimize their GNet Connect profile gain visibility, attract more affiliates, and secure more jobs.
  • Features like Farmhouse and affiliate “needs” notifications are powerful tools to reduce phone calls, prevent double bookings, and increase revenue opportunities.

What’s Next?

Yasmin Zafar wrapped up by reminding everyone that GNet workshops are recorded and available on our YouTube channel. We encourage all members to join future sessions, bring questions, and continue building stronger affiliate relationships through GNet.

💡 Pro Tip: If you’re new to GNet, start by completing your Connect profile and testing the new setup wizard in Limo Anywhere. A few minutes of setup can save hours of troubleshooting later.
